&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;New page&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div&gt;You can recover your 'root' password by booting IPCop in 'Single User'&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;mode. To do this, reboot your IPCop machine. During reboot, while the&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;GRUB splash screen is displayed, press the 'a' key. A long command&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;line will appear with the cursor situated at the end. Press the 'Space&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;Bar' and type the word:&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;pre&amp;gt;single&amp;lt;/pre&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Then press the 'Enter' key. IPCop will boot and you will be placed at&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;the command prompt, logged in as the 'root' user. Type:&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;pre&amp;gt;passwd&amp;lt;/pre&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
You will be prompted to enter the 'root' password, twice. Next, reboot&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;your machine by entering:&lt;br /&gt;
